Prior to starting my podcast I thought it was pretty easy just sit in front of a mic and talk. Simple right? Now the tough part I thought was all the equpiment I thought you might need. Now the equipment is necessary but with technology you really can do it all from your phone or you can pay someone. I finally made up my mind that I was going to start a podcast in January 2019 and honestly I did not have a name nor did I know what I would talk about exactly. All I knew was that I wanted to talk, share my views, make people laugh and educate the masses. I did not have a studio or all the what I thought would be expensive equipment. Some may not know but I was going to do the podcast with another person but do to miscommunication I decided to start on my own. Making this decision actually eliminated me from the free access to a studio and added help but I didnt care.

I did some research and found Anchor.com it is a fee site that allows you to record your podcast for free as well as provide editing services and opprotunites to monetize. I recorded my first two episodes and I was happy. A feeling of accomplishment over took me and I knew that this was something I could see myself doing for a while. How could I get more listeners, follows and even make some money was a thought thereafter? The toughest aspect of podcasting is creating good titles for each episode, creating content and posting episodes in a timely manner. If I don’t engage on social media the listens surely show for it. The listens now connect with the coins, given that I just started to monetize, when I really should have done so when I first started. My podcast aims to educate no matter what. In every episode there is something to learn. If you havent had the chance to listen to Charmane’s World Podcast then please do so, you might mess around and like it.

There are times where I wonder if people will like the episodes but I quickly realized that there are so many factors that may determine why people listen to a particular episode and that every episode may not reach record breaking numbers and that is fine. I have been told that I have a nice voice however my voice may be my biggist issue. At this current moment I am fighting a cold so I sound stuffy at times, I am clearing my voice often so I have to drink tea and eat cough drops to knock out this Oscar the Grouch voice I have. I also discovered that I have a lisp and my energy level surely shows through each episode. My posture is everything, how I’m sitting, if im too cold or too hot, my mood etc.
Time oh how could I forget time. The amount of time it takes for me to edit, listen and even come up with topics and then create content and engage! Itβs like a job in itself and I do it all. It is all worth it, the comments, repost, tags and shout outs let me know that I am on the right track. The countless hours spent creating and brain storming are essential and no one warned me about this part at all. I guess it will be as successful as I want it to be. One thing is for sure is that I did not think that it would pick up as fast as it did. Podcasting has surely been a learning experiene and I strive to be better. When you think of podcast out of the bay area I want people to think of Charmane’s World Podcast.
