The Supper Club

I had the pleasure of attending a Supper Club an 11-course meal prepared by The Bay Area’s best Chefs Michael Woods who was voted The Bay Area top 10 Chefs and Chef Solomon “Swoop” Johnson (No relation, bu that’s family) Winner of this years Chopped 420 special. Together these fine young men run The Bussdown ( https://www.thebussdownoak.com/menu/ )which is a cloud kitchen in Oakland serving unique dishes, basically bringing fine dinning to a table near you and throwing a party on your tongue while they do it. A friendship and partnership none like Iv ever seen the support and love they display is admirable. Iv been able to spend time with these men and celebrate their wins and tonight was nothing short of amazing.

Each dish was prepared to perfection with amazing presentation, flavorfulness, paired with great cocktails and a real laid-back ambiance. Hosted at the Low Bar (https://www.lowbaroakland.com/) in Downtown Oakland. I was greeted by a beautiful hostess and directed to my seat where I enjoyed my meal with two friends. I was planning on potentially dinning alone but I was so excited to see familiar faces.

We were given unlimited shots that certainly kept everyone warm. As long as our small clay cups were upright the drinks were coming nonstop all night. I was mostly excited about the plate choice because it wasn’t your standard round or even square plate It was like a slab of dark stone. I was mesmerized by it because it was nothing I had never seen before and a good sign that the food was just as amazing was that you could hear everyone’s utensils scraping the stone which ment there was little to nothing left.

Every few plates the Chef’s would come out and explain what we had been served, the inspiration and how some of the plates were prepared. The desert was soooo good, I love sweets, the plate didn’t look like a lot but I knew these Chef’s wouldn’t disappoint. Chef Swoop was very attentive, greeting all the guest and getting clarity on guest allergies and food restrictions. Chef Woods came and had a shot with us as we congratulated him on another successful event.

This was my black girl luxury moment.  I love traveling, exclusiveness and fine dinning and this event was right up my alley. I would surely attend another dinner and I will continue to support these men. They have a few things up their sleeves and I cant wait. Please check them out.

Certainly a beautiful night, amazing food, drinks and people.

I don’t consider myself a foodie but I do enjoy trying new food. If you have any suggetions please feel free to let me know.
