All today I have had this Aaliyah verse stuck in my head which goes “It’s Friday and I’m ready to swing. Pick up my girls and hit the party scene.”  First, I thought the word was “ Ready to hang” but that’s not important. Anyway this song totally does not match this crazy bay area weather we have right now. Currently it is raining so hard, its cloudy and it’s FIRST FRIDAY! This can’t be life right now!

So clearly I’m upset. I am actually available to go and I’m praying the weather clears up by 6pm. So for those who do not know, first Friday is like the bay area’s night on the town. There are food trucks, vendors, music, dancing and possibly my future husband! But how this weather is set up I might miss out on my blessing of good food and or both a man. The vibe is great because everyone is out, walking, the car and motor cycle clubs are posted blasting their music. Everyone is having a good time, when the vendors close at 9pm that’s when its time to really turn up and any of the local clubs, #Drinkspecials.

First Fridays is always on my calendar. I can taste the food now. I have some friends that are chefs and they post pictures of their meals on Instagram for first First Fridays and the pictures do the taste no justice. So far First Fridays is on rain or shine, but the question is will I be there? Parking is always a monster and I’m really not trying to stand in a food truck line with my umbrella and some weirdo trying to get under it with me because that’s how we do. At First Fridays everyone is your cousin but when it’s raining I aint got time for the foolery.

Maybe I will ask one of my friends to come with me. When someone says First Fridays faces light up and everyone is down to go but this day I’m going to have to sing and dance.
